Our Workplex Story...
Workplex is a small, family-owned enterprise committed to helping businesses thrive through the power of the collective. We’re a small local business in the game of supporting other small local businesses.
Running a business is tough at the best of times. Overheads can be crippling, and the day to day of simply running a business can take over the opportunities for growth and development. Every business is different, and their needs shift and evolve over time. So too, their ideal workplace.
Workplex was created by two local business owners who saw a need for a collaborative workspace in Melbourne’s south-east suburbs, where business owners could work, connect and grow. A space that cultivates community, profit and prosperity, without complicated contracts and sneaky expensive add-ons.
Workplex offers the flexibility contemporary businesses need, whether that’s a workspace eight hours a week or eight days a year. We’ve done away with gimmicky membership structures and replaced them with purposeful features: everything you need to run a thriving business, none of the fluff, just a single monthly fee. Bottom line: it’s work, made simple.

They say necessity is the mother of invention. After struggling to find the right local office space for their own businesses, Michelle Jacobs and Shannon Jacobs decided to create their own in their local community.
Workplex reflects everything they were looking for in a workspace:

Shannon Jacobs
Founding Director
I have a background in project management, customer service and sales. I am also passionate about photography and film making and have a focus on professional photography and video production for businesses. I also love to support new businesses navigating the online world which can be a daunting experience!
Michelle Jacobs
Director & Co-Founder
I am passionate about innovative start-up business and women in business. I also have a legal background and am a Migration Agent. As a first time mum I understand the struggle with balancing family life and achieving business goals and want to support people returning to work and starting a new business venture.
Shanelle Hadgie
Office Coordinator
Hello, I'm Shanelle!
As Office Coordinator, I look after the day to day running of Workplex and make sure everyone who walks through our doors feels welcome. I have extensive experience in design and marketing, so I love bringing a creative eye to everything from our space to how we share it with the world. Outside of work, my passions are art, music and my family, and I bring that same creativity and care to everything I do here. Being part of such a friendly, supportive community is what makes each day special, and I'm always happy to help, whether it's a quick question, a tour or a friendly chat.
