Our Workplex Story...

Workplex is a small, family owned enterprise committed to helping businesses thrive through the power of the collective. We’re a small local business in the game of supporting other small local businesses.

Running a business is tough at the best of times. Overheads can be crippling, and the day to day of simply running a business can take over the opportunities for growth and development.  Every business is different, and their needs shift and evolve over time. So too, their ideal workplace.

Workplex was created by two local business owners who saw a need for a collaborative workspace in Melbourne’s South East suburbs, where business owners could work, connect and grow, a space that cultivates community, profit and prosperity, without the complicated contracts and sneaky expensive add-ons.

Workplex offers the flexibility and diversity of options that contemporary businesses need, be it access to a workspace eight hours a week, or eight days a year. We’ve done away with gimmicky membership structures and replaced them with dynamic, purposeful features with everything you need to run a thriving business, with none of the fluff, just a single monthly fee. Bottom line- it’s work, made simple.

They say necessity is the mother of invention- well, after struggling to find the right local office space for their own businesses, Michelle Fineberg and Shannon Jacobs decided to create their own in their local community.

Workplex reflects everything they were looking for in a work space:

Flexible options to meet the needs of a diverse community including everything from full time private offices for a team of ten, dedicated desks for solopreneurs or small teams, right through to access to meeting rooms as people need them.

A range of memberships that meet you where you’re at, that echo the ebbs and flows of business life without locking people in to extensive contracts, rigid plans and confusing inclusions and ‘benefits’ that are either everything you don’t need, or end up being more costly over time.

Access to professional development and social opportunities that small business owners rarely have access to in the day to day of running their business.

A space that was light, bright and close to home, with free onsite parking, easy access to public transport and within close vicinity of the vibrancy of a community shopping strip.

Michelle Fineberg

Director & Co-Founder

I am passionate about innovative start-up business and women in business.  I also have a legal background and am a Migration Agent.  As a first time mum I understand the struggle with balancing family life and achieving business goals and want to support people returning to work and starting a new business venture. 


Shannon Jacobs

Director & Co-Founder

I have a background in project management, customer service and sales.  I am also passionate about photography and film making and have a focus on professional photography and video production for businesses.  I also love to support new businesses navigating the online wolrd which can be a daunting experience!
